Account review: how we activate new accounts

Modified on Fri, 23 Oct at 2:36 AM

We review every new LimePhone account before it goes live. This keeps our numbers trusted by carriers, so your calls get answered rather than flagged as spam.

How long it takes

We review new accounts within 1 business day once you've verified your email and phone number.

You don't need to contact us to start the review. It starts as soon as both are verified.

What happens during signup

  1. Verify your email. We email you a 6-digit code.
  2. Choose your number.
  3. Answer a few questions about how you'll use LimePhone.
  4. Add your card. We place a $1 hold to check it. Nothing is charged during your 7-day free trial. Prepaid cards can't be used for a trial.
  5. Verify your phone. Use a mobile number that can receive text messages.

If you bought a plan on limephone.io instead, you paid at checkout and there's no trial.

Until your account is approved, you'll see a page saying it's being reviewed. Your number is held for you and goes live once you're approved.

What speeds it up

  • Verify your email and phone straight away.
  • Answer our confirmation call. The review page calls the mobile number you verified, so keep your phone nearby.
  • Answer the questions about how you'll use LimePhone.
  • Use a credit or debit card in your own name.
  • Sign up from the same country as your card and phone number, with any VPN switched off.

Why an account isn't approved

We can't approve an account when, for example:

  • we can't reach you to confirm your details,
  • the email address is disposable or temporary,
  • the use case isn't one we support, such as cold calling, call-centre dialling, bulk unsolicited texts or receiving verification codes.

If we can't approve your account, we email you the reason and refund any payment you made.

Your free trial during review

If your account is still under review when your free trial ends, the trial simply ends. You are not charged.

Cancelling while under review

While your account is under review you can't open Settings. To cancel, email [email protected], or use the billing portal described in Cancel your subscription.

Something stuck?

If it's been more than 1 business day since you verified your email and phone, email [email protected] from the email address on your account.
